Rebuild Green 2030 Program

We are not only making planet cleaner, we also help Ukraine to be rebuilt in a sustainable way

Ukraine’s urban areas have faced unprecedented challenges, and there’s a pressing need for reconstruction that is not only swift but also sustainable. Our mission is to integrate eco-friendly, durable, and energy-efficient building practices into the rebuilding process, utilizing our innovative straw panel technology.

Pilot Projects

  • Severynivka (Vinnytsia region) — Winner of the first Rebuild Green Hackathon 2024. The Common Ground project, led by Budmo Team, is now under construction. Its centerpiece — a Bird Observatory building — is expected to be completed by October 2025, fulfilling the program’s 12-month implementation requirement.
  • Teofipol — Selected as the site of Ukraine’s first Circular Residential-Industrial Hub, integrating:

    • The Toloka Housing model for displaced families made by the Rebuild Green Hackathon team led by the Swiss architect Thomas Dimov,

    • Local modular panel production ,

    • Training programs for the local green economy.

  • Bucha Forest Classroom — A realized pilot developed in partnership with 2L Architects (Lithuania), Bucha School Foundation, and BTInvest. While not a direct Hackathon outcome, the project was catalyzed by Rebuild Green’s ecosystem and partnership network.

  • Apostolove Rehabilitation Center and Bio-Based Construction Technics Training center for rehabilitation of veterans– the development of two projects with the teams Mangini led by Sergio Grazioli and ABCU led by Mike Deveria. Working on a concept of implementation of the rehabilitation center with the eco-housing with the training center for veterans, project is planned to be made in 2026-2027.

Rebuild Green 2030 is an international initiative co-founded by Modulina, FIABCI-Ukraine, and Synchro Space in 2023 to lead Ukraine’s green recovery through circular design, nature-based materials, and regenerative urbanism. As an answer to the Building Better Lives UN Charter undersigned by FIABCI international and FIABCI-Ukraine in September 2023.

Through the program, we aimed to:

  • Transform affected communities into replicable models of low-carbon, dignified, and circular urban development.

  • Support the creation of public buildings and social infrastructure using renewable, carbon-storing materials like Modulina Straw Panels.

  • Promote sustainable practices in architecture, education, and municipal planning.

  • Establish blueprints for eco-conscious reconstruction in Ukraine and beyond.

How It Works

Every two years, Rebuild Green hosts open Urban Hackathons, where interdisciplinary teams co-create architectural and urban proposals in response to real challenges presented by Ukrainian municipalities.

Winning teams receive:

  • Mentorship and support from international experts,

  • Coordination with local governments and implementation partners,

  • Donation of Modulina Straw Panels for the selected winning pilot project,

  • Opportunities to present their project at global forums and exhibitions.

Project selection is guided by clear evaluation criteria — including social and environmental impact, technical feasibility, level of innovation, team capacity, budget efficiency, and alignment with sustainability goals — and is assessed by an international jury and advisory board.

FROM 2023 to 2025:

  • Engaged over 100 professionals from 16 countries through Hackathons and mentorship programs, producing real-world projects and municipal collaborations.

  • Represented Ukraine’s sustainable reconstruction strategy at MIPIM 2025 in CannesEU-UA Business Summit in BrusselsWorld Urban Forum in Cairo, FIABCI Global Summit in Barcelona, FIABCI World Congress in Lagos, URC2025 in RomeReBuild Ukraine in Warsaw.

  • Built strategic partnerships with NOCON (Norway), Delta Ukraine (Ukraine-Austria), Holland ConTech&PropTech (the Netherlands), European Straw Building Association (EU)New European Bauhaus (EU), 2000 Watt Smart Cities Association (Switzerland), Ukrainian Green Building Council (Ukraine) and others.

  • Rebuild Green Declaration has been co-initiated and signed with more then 20 stakeholders and more are ready to join the movement at the RebuildGreen2030 side event at URC2025, organized by the founding partners of RebuildGreen2030 program along with Holland ConTech&PropTech in Rome Sapienza University on July 12, 2025
