Registration Opens for Rebuild Green Hackathon 2026: An International Hackathon for the Green Recovery of Ukrainian Communities

Participant registration is open until 21 September 2026. The Hackathon will take place online from 3 to 24 October 2026.

Rebuild Green 2030 announces the opening of registration for Rebuild Green Hackathon 2026 — an international online hackathon connecting real recovery challenges from Ukrainian communities with professional expertise, green technologies, companies, universities and implementation-oriented project teams.

The Hackathon is part of the long-term Rebuild Green 2030 programme, which supports Ukraine’s green, sustainable and resilient recovery through bio-based materials, eco-technologies, circular construction, participatory territorial development and scalable implementation models.

From 3 to 24 October 2026, selected participants will work online with real municipal challenges submitted by Ukrainian communities. Teams will develop sustainable, realistic and scalable solutions that can be further developed after the Hackathon into grant applications, investment proposals, consortium projects or practical implementation plans.

The Hackathon invites architects, urban planners, engineers, designers, landscape architects, ConTech and PropTech companies, material producers, green construction experts, sustainability professionals, researchers, universities, NGOs, community representatives, project managers, grant and finance experts, companies, investors and implementation partners.

Participants may apply either individually or as already formed teams. During the Hackathon, the formation of interdisciplinary teams will be supported, bringing together spatial, technical, environmental, social, financial and implementation expertise.

Final solutions will be presented during Demo Day on 31 October 2026. The three winning projects will be publicly announced on 12 November 2026 during Rebuild Ukraine 2026 in Warsaw and may continue into the Rebuild Green 2030 acceleration pathway.

The first-place team will receive an in-kind acceleration package with an estimated value of up to €50,000. This is not a cash prize, but professional support provided in the form of expert working hours for the preparation of a strong grant or funding application.

Selected winning projects may also receive access to additional in-kind support, including a potential material contribution from programme partners, depending on the technical solution, project needs, partner agreements and the future consortium structure.

“Rebuild Green Hackathon 2026 is not simply an idea competition. It is an instrument that helps transform real community needs into projects capable of moving toward implementation, funding, partnerships and scaling. We invite professionals, companies, universities and organisations to contribute to Ukraine’s recovery now — through their expertise, technologies and collaborative work on real challenges,” Alissa Bankovska and Katerina Pylypchuk, the Rebuild Green 2030 organisers state.

Participant registration for selection is open until 21 September 2026.
